Are you looking for a new role where your work will make a real impact? Changeworks is looking for a technical Consultant able to support our current home retrofit assessment, modelling and strategy services, with the interest and flexibility to contribute to our broader portfolio as it evolves.

As a Consultant, you will play an important role in leading, contributing to and shaping the delivery of high quality and innovative projects and services that support Changeworks’ strategy of acceleration of decarbonising Scottish homes and a just transition to net zero.

You will play a critical role in the team, working with Principal and Senior Consultants and other members of the Consultancy team to identify and pursue opportunities to develop and diversify our portfolio of impact-focused income-generating projects, services and contracts.

You will contribute to business development, supporting client prospecting and tender and bid writing, and lead where required. Once work is secured, you will manage projects and contracts using historic and forecasted financial and management information to ensure they achieve their aims and objectives and are delivered on time and to budget.

Finally, you will also play a role in support our proactive efforts to using Changeworks insights and experience to shape sector policy and practice — through contributions to thought leadership, public engagement, and cross-sector working groups.

About the Consultancy Team

Our Consultancy team offers expert analytical and advisory services to a diverse range of clients including local authorities, housing associations, the Scottish Government, and organisations across the third and private sectors. Our work covers the full spectrum of decarbonising Scotland’s homes—from energy efficiency and low-carbon heat to renewable energy systems, fuel poverty, and behaviour change. We support clients to decarbonise their housing assets and contribute evidence to inform policy, planning, supply chains, and finance at both national and local levels.

About You

We’re seeking a motivated and forward-thinking professional with the following strengths:

Strategic Insight: understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape in Scotland and the UK, and the challenges and opportunities faced by our clients and partners in decarbonising domestic buildings.

Technical Expertise: knowledge of home retrofit including energy efficiency and the whole house approach, individual and collective low-carbon heating systems and experience in estimating building energy ratings and home energy modelling packages such as PhPP.

Project Delivery & Management: a track record of delivering high quality analysis and recommendations in written and verbal format and delivering excellence in project management in a professional, research or consultancy role.

Business Development: experience in developing client relationships, writing bids and tenders, and helping to secure contracts and funding .

Communication & Collaboration: strong communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading health charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid to live life to the full again. Our Community Healthcare Support Service provides access to a range of supported self management and community recovery services to support people across Scotland to manage their health as well as possible and adjust to life after a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or after a stroke.

The purpose of this role is to support the Head of External Engagement, Peer and Participation, and colleagues across the External Engagement and Service Development Directorate, in building a strong and wide-reaching network of stakeholders. These relationships will help drive forward CHSS’s No Life Half Lived ambitions and highlight the value of our community healthcare support model in achieving shared strategic and operational goals across Scotland.

You’ll play a key role in promoting and championing CHSS’s approach, helping to strengthen our reputation, broaden our reach, and demonstrate the impact of our work. This includes developing meaningful partnerships and engaging with influential decision-makers across the third sector, NHS, Scottish Parliament, NHS Boards, Integrated Joint Boards, and Health and Social Care Partnerships to increase our service user referrals.

A particular focus of the role will be on identifying and developing strategic and operational partnerships in respiratory and cardiac health, increasing referrals and ensuring people living with these conditions receive the support they need.

The Human Rights Consortium Scotland (HRCS) is recruiting to this role for the first time which has been created to build on the successes of the Consortium’s current income generation strategy and develop a new, long-term one focussed on sustainability and growth.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. The Advice Line service is a free and confidential helpline that supports people living with our conditions to ensure that no life is half lived.

The Advice Line Call Coordinator will develop a team of volunteers who will respond to incoming phone calls/e-mails/text messages and direct service users to the appropriate people/team within CHSS and be responsible for administration duties related to the Advice Line.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with good communication skills, experience working in a health/social care setting and a basic understanding of medical terminology.

Experience of recruiting and line managing volunteers is desirable.
