The Consortium’s Board is a great team of people, working together to make sure the organisation is run well and takes a human rights-based approach to all we do.
Our excellent current Treasurer is stepping down, so we are looking for a new Board member who will take on this role.
Could you be our new Treasurer? Do you have a head for figures and a love of spreadsheets? And what’s more, are you committed to seeing human rights protected and realised for all in Scotland?
If you would like to have an informal chat with our Chair or Director about what it would involve, get in touch at info@hrcscotland.org
About us
The Human Rights Consortium Scotland is Scotland’s civil society network to defend and protect human rights. We are at an exciting time in our development as an organisation, with new areas of work and a growing team.
The role
Do you love being organised? We are looking for someone to join our team who loves administration and things being organised and who loves working in a small but effective team.
From finance, to minutes, to booking rooms, and arranging IT equipment, this role will be varied. It will require plenty of multi-tasking and working on your own initiative.
The Administrator role is new to the Consortium. The Consortium hotdesks in the Amnesty International office in Edinburgh, alongside other like-minded organisations. We also work in partnership in everything we do, so we are also looking for someone who is brilliant at working well with others.
If you have all of these skills, as well as a passionate commitment to see human rights better protected and realised in Scotland, apply today!
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about human rights, has a strong track record of influencing policy, and who excels in working well with others.
In this new and senior role, you will be part of influencing debate and developments around ambitious new human rights law in Scotland. At a UK level, major changes to human rights law are planned, and the Consortium will play a key role in helping to raise Scottish civil society voice about these changes.
We are committed to working in partnership in all that we do. You can expect to work closely with our member organisations, bringing their experience and voices directly to the decision-making table. You will be an excellent communicator, accessible and engaging in all that you write and say.
You will have an initial focus on influencing around access to justice. You can also expect to be involved in influencing around many other crucial aspects of the policy, culture and law that impact rights realisation.
The Consortium is a small team, but flexible and impactful. We learn all of the time, always challenging ourselves to listen, to change, and to do all that we can to promote a human rights culture in Scotland. Come and help us promote and defend human rights for more people in Scotland!
