We offer vital advice and information to people and their families, delivering support services in the community. We believe everyone has the right to live life to the full, so we are committed to influencing public policy to ensure those affected get the services they so badly need. Our ambition is to be Scotland’s leading organisation for community driven support for people with these health conditions.

You will provide administrative assistance to the Retail team, with particular focus on using the data we generate to evaluate our business and make recommendations for the future.

You must have experience of using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel and Outlook essential), have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload adapting to the requirements of the Retail Department. We offer vital advice, support and information to those affected so that they can live the lives they want to live and influence public policy to ensure that people get the services that they need. Our renewed ambition is to become Scotland’s leading organisation for person-centred, user-led community support for people with our health conditions.

CHSS is fortunate to have the support of 1,500 volunteers and we are looking to double this number of volunteers to help us reach more people living with our conditions across Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of CHSS’s new volunteering and engagement team. You will recruit, select and contribute to the training of new volunteers through community mapping and scoping, raising the profile of our volunteer requirements and working in partnership with internal and external colleagues.

You should have a sound understanding of volunteer recruitment and volunteer management processes. In addition, you should have considerable experience of working with and supervising volunteers, have good organisational and communication skills and have experience of managing volunteer recruitment campaigns. A current driving licence and the use of a car for work are essential. These posts will be subject to member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

Stroke Rehabilitation Support Coordinator Lothian

The main purpose of this post is to deliver support services in the designated area of responsibility. The service supports people who have had a stroke to get on with their life in a way which is meaningful to them.

The service is delivered with the support of a team of trained volunteers, which the coordinator has direct responsibility for.

The role is extremely varied requiring a variety of practical skills, working with colleagues to deliver an effective and seamless recovery service for individuals, and it will support Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland to deliver its vision and strategy to ensure that No Life is Half Lived.

Demonstration of a positive attitude towards people with disabilities, the ability to recruit, manage and motivate a team of volunteers, excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required to fulfil this role.

This post is home-based and subject to PVG membership.

The use of own car and a current valid driving licence is essential (expenses paid at mileage rate).
