Community Involvement Coordinator – Long Covid

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is an independent Scottish charity, whose mission is to be the community of support, kindness and challenge where people can help each other, can secure the expert help they need, and collectively advocate for the care that matters to them. We offer vital advice, support and information to those affected so that they can live the lives they want to live and influence public policy to ensure that people get the services that they need. Our renewed ambition is to become Scotland’s leading organisation for person-centred, user-led community support for people with our health conditions.

The purpose of this role is to engage with people effected by Long Covid to influence the design and development of the services which matter to them.

COVID 19/Long COVID is a relatively recent condition that has been added to CHSS services. People with long COVID are facing real challenges in getting support and guidance on managing their condition, together with the increased burden of isolation and mental health.

The role holder will use the principles of community development to understand the collective needs across the condition. The role will then explore what services and pathways are needed to enable people to live well.

CHSS employees enjoy a variety of organisational benefits including: Company pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, company sick pay, employee welfare support and life assurance.
