Role

Equal Say has been providing advocacy for people with disabilities since 1995. We want to recruit two new workers for our project in North Lanarkshire working with adults with disabilities, mental ill health and/or long-term conditions. We have 8 days per week worth of resource and this can be split between candidates on negotiated basis; for example, a 3 day and 5 day post or two 4 day posts.

If you have knowledge or experience of any of the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Providing advocacy or representation to marginalised people
  • Experience of working with people with disabilities, mental ill health and/or long-term conditions.
  • Experience of casework in a community setting
  • Autonomous working within a small team
  • A passion for inclusion and natural justice

We offer 37 days holiday, 6% matched pension, travel allowance, company mobile phone/laptop and flexible working.

Access to suitable transport and driving license are essential for this position due to the size and nature of the Local Authority area covered.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme and suitable references. Starting salary is dependent on experience and highly experienced staff can start at the top of the scale.
