Patient Advisers will work with the Citizens Advice bureau/x in their local health board area and will also contribute to services provided throughout Scotland via a national PASS telephone advice line and by email and webchat via a national PASS website. The Patient Adviser will provide direct advice and information to clients; support bureaux volunteers to deliver information and advice relevant to the service; produce performance and monitoring reports; assist with the marketing and promotion of the service; and liaise with external organisations in order to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of PASS.

What is the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Co-ordinator. Working Week will be a rotation system between as following days and hours: Monday - Friday between 8am - 8pm & Saturdays 10am - 2pm

Salary band:£27,598 - £36,445. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

Primary location: Glenrothes, with the potential move to Dunfermline. You will be expected to cover throughout Central Scotland & Fife locality is required.

Postholder will be reporting directly to a Locality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring, within your Service(s), that VSS’s local service development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographical area(s). Service delivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers, you will be responsible for planning their deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims and witnesses of crime, our service users. Responsible for all aspects of a volunteer engagement with VSS at your services, including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoing performance management and support. Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuous learning takes place to monitor that the outcomes of service users are being met.

What you’ll need to be successful

We are looking for someone who is experienced in a similar role and can evidence of continuing professional development, effective leadership style, able to build confidence, motivate and improve performance. Someone who has analytical skills, must be able to understand, collect, analyse, report and present data. Someone who has the ability to challenge stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and bias. Good working knowledge of the voluntary/charity sector is required, as is a willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to travel as required. A full UK driving licence is desirable for this role but not essential.

You should be conversant with all relevant legislation and practice in the fields of Money Advice and Welfare Rights and understand the principles of Financial Capability.

Easterhouse CAB are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will place the highest priority in maintaining and promoting a quality service to the residents of Greater Easterhouse. The advice session supervisor will provide support and supervision to volunteer advisers and monitor casework on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and current experience in advice giving. They will have a sound knowledge of welfare benefits and money advice as well as the ability to prioritise workloads, work on their own initiative and motive others.
