Role

As a Scotland-wide voluntary organisation, we are committed to providing services that contribute to positive transformational changes in the lives of our service users. We work independently and collaboratively within Scotland’s communities to provide support, prevent conflict and challenge offending behaviour wherever the need arises. Our services are based on research evidence, service user feedback, international standards of good practice and a commitment to development and innovation.

Opportunities have arisen to join our Criminal Justice Unpaid Work teams in Glasgow and possibly other localities to support in the delivery of Community Payback Services. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills and an interest in working with adults involved in offending. This is a successful team, where work is as challenging as it is rewarding, you will need to have a non-judgmental value base, a confident and practical approach and be flexible to meet the needs of our services.

The post holder will require practical skills in woodwork and gardening activities - the tasks involved will be varied and will involve outdoor work. You will be a good communicator, able to encourage and facilitate a positive working environment. Knowledge of and a commitment to working within Health and Safety legislation is essential.

Experience in adult social care, group work and working with those with complex needs would be desirable. A full induction and ongoing training programme will be provided.

We are keen to hear from applicants from a variety of backgrounds, and you must have the skills to communicate positively with a diverse range of individuals.

This post requires flexibility and the availability to work weekends. A valid driving licence and willingness to drive a works van is essential.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post.
