Use your skills to help Scotland’s voluntary sector tackle the climate and nature emergencies. We’re looking for a dynamic development officer to join SCVO and deliver the next phase of our popular Growing Climate Confidence project.

SCVO is the membership organisation for the voluntary sector in Scotland and we take pride in being a good employer. We are a flexible and family friendly organisation with good pay and conditions.

We’re looking for someone with a sound knowledge of project management, excellent communication skills and a passion for taking action on climate change. You will play a key role in our Support Services, ensuring that SCVO members and the broader third sector are able to access the training, networks and information they need to deliver environmental and net zero plans.

Location: This post can be based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness. SCVO staff can work a blend of office and home on agreement with their team and line manager, and within the parameters of our Blended Working policy.

Within the UK there is over £19bn a year in unclaimed welfare benefits, and in Edinburgh an estimated 80,000 are living in relative poverty, and during 2023 there were 1197 drug related deaths in Scotland.

Are you:

• Passionate and committed to making a meaningful difference for individuals affected by addiction.
• Able to assist the Welfare Right & Housing Adviser in supporting people.
• Able to grow trusting relationships in a formal setting.
• Understanding of people’s journeys and the challenges they have had in their lives, and how poverty and addiction can have an impact on them.

As a Case Support Worker in CHAI You will :

• Provide high quality practical support focused on welfare rights and housing to people with addictions.
• Provide support within a range of setting from Recovery Hubs and local community venues.
• Conduct meetings with clients either in person, on the telephone or virtually.
• Facilitate better outcomes for people which will help improve their financial situation and their mental and physical health.

As a Money Adviser in CHAI, You will:

• Provide high quality accurate advice, information, and representation in line with the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers.
• Provide advice within a range of settings from our offices, outreach venues and home visits.
• Conduct interviews with clients either in person, on the telephone or virtually.
• Facilitate better outcomes for people which will help improve their financial situation and their mental and physical health.

Community Energy Scotland is looking to recruit an energetic individual who shares CES’ values to be part of a team delivering and providing support on the technical elements of projects.

Personal development opportunities, and support will be provided by Community Energy Scotland.

Working as part of a technical team in CES to provide practical & technical support for community energy project development across a portfolio of innovative projects and research activities on areas including renewable electricity generation, low carbon heat, sustainable transport, smart energy systems and building fabric improvements.
