Role

Reports to: Board of Trustees

Over the past 10 years, Edinburgh Garden Partners (EGP) has developed a unique approach to addressing the risks of social isolation in our communities. By matching volunteers who are looking for a space to grow with local garden owners who have a space to share, our garden partnerships create meaningful and lasting social connections between people of different ages and cultural backgrounds. It is the shared interest in gardening and the exchange of skills, knowledge and life experience that make our garden partnerships so special and rewarding for everyone involved.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator who is committed to our values and has the skills and energy to develop the organisation and further EGP’s mission. This is an exciting and dynamic role which blends responsibility for project delivery and day-to-day operations, with longer-term planning and development.

You will therefore have skills in strategic leadership, experience of project management and volunteer management, and be highly organised and capable of working with a large degree of autonomy. You will also be a natural collaborator who thrives on building good relationships and partnerships with colleagues, multiple stakeholders and external organisations.

The Project Coordinator will report to the Board of Trustees, working with them on strategy and fundraising. You will also have line management responsibility for EGP’s Volunteering Development Coordinator, working closely together to create new garden partnerships, facilitate the matching process and to ensure safe and supported garden sharing experiences for all.

This is a permanent position, subject to continued funding. We anticipate filling this as a full-time post (35 hours per week) but are willing to consider alternative arrangements for the right candidate. EGP strives to be an employer that promotes the wellbeing of its staff. The postholder will receive an annual holiday entitlement of 25 days plus 8 public holidays, employer’s pension contribution, as well as opportunities for flexible working, training and development.
