Role

ENABLE Glasgow is a small/medium sized third sector organisation and registered charity which provides a range of services to people with learning disabilities and their carers in Glasgow. The Finance Assistant is part of a small administrative team at our central office, and is directly responsible to the Finance Manager.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Coordinator and Finance Manager in the effective management of financial systems, ensuring that all monies and purchase invoices are received timeously, accurately recorded and posted to the accounting system. The role also involves assisting with the processing of our monthly pay roll and making payments to suppliers using a range of payment systems. The operation of an appropriate nominal ledger coding structure and assistance in the preparation of management and statutory accounts is also required.

The Finance Assistant must share ENABLE Glasgow’s commitment to the welfare and human rights of people with learning disabilities. Professional experience in the field of financial administration, as well as a good working knowledge of financial IT systems and ledgers (including coding structures) is also required. The successful candidate should have demonstrable experience in accounting and bookkeeping (including purchase ledger and cash handling) as well as a flexible approach to the job.
