We have a vacancy for an exciting role based in Stranraer at our Dementia Resource Centre in Cromarty House. We wish to recruit to the key role of Community Activities Organiser. This post is central to our success in sourcing, planning, organising and facilitating social, recreational and therapeutic activities through group work, and for ensuring that people living with dementia are encouraged, have access to, and can participate in a varied range of activities, designed to enhance their quality of life and enjoyment. A key aspect of the work will be to use our premises at Cromarty House in Sun Street and venues in and around Wigtownshire. The applicant will hold a current driver’s licence.
Applicants will have an understanding of the aims and values of Alzheimer Scotland supported by excellent communication and networking skills and have excellent IT skills. The applicant must have an empathic, positive attitude, a creative flair; hold a recognised professional qualification and/or have relevant experience. The applicant must be able to work well with other agencies and volunteers and should be compassionate and creative.
