Who we are looking for:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in Scotland as a Policy and Public Affairs Officer. This can be a home-based role but will require regular travel to the National Autistic Society Scotland’s office in Glasgow and the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will work to influence government policy and create positive change for autistic people and their families.

The successful candidate will raise awareness of National Autistic Society Scotland amongst key political stakeholders, develop and deliver the organisation’s public affairs activity, and support the development of the strategic relationships we need to influence nationally. The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will also work alongside the Media and Communications Officer to support campaigning activities in Scotland and promote our public affairs activity to external audiences.

The successful candidate must have proven understanding of policy or parliamentary work, including knowledge of government and parliamentary structures. They must be comfortable analysing information, grasping complex policy issues and communicating these in an accessible way. They should be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline or have a proven track record in the policy or political field. An understanding of voluntary sector and/or disability issues is desirable, as is a knowledge and understanding of campaigning methods.

We are looking to recruit energetic, enthusiastic and creative people to join our team of Learning Support Assistants at the Royal Blind School.

The Royal Blind School, in Edinburgh, is a leading provider of specialist education services for children and young people with a vision impairment, including those with additional support needs and/or complex needs. As a Grant Aided Independent Special School, we deliver education and support for day and residential pupils aged 5 to 19 years.

You will support the delivery of the learning and care to our pupils who have a range of visual impairments and additional complex needs, by providing a safe and high-quality environment in which they will thrive.

Applicants should have experience of working with children with additional support needs in a classroom environment.

The post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update for regulated work with vulnerable children and young adults.

Your role, as an Employer Relationship Manager will involve taking responsibility for leading & co-ordinating the smooth and successful running of FUSE, a unique and innovative partnership between St James Quarter, Capital City Partnership (CCP) and City of Edinburgh Council (CEC). • Two years minimum recent experience within recruitment or employability sectors with a focus on employer engagement or business development

Desirable Qualifications:

• Diploma Practice Leadership in PBS or equivalent BTEC Level 5.
