Covid Aid is the UK’s leading national charity dedicated to supporting all those most significantly affected by Covid-19. We are here for people throughout the pandemic and beyond on issues including Long Covid, grief and bereavement, and pandemic-related trauma.
Having in the past year become an innovative award-winning charity which has raised six figures and reached more than 250,000 people across the country – directly supporting thousands affected by Long Covid in the process through our online support community, which has received Scottish Government funding – we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable Chair who can help us continue our award-winning journey so far. The tenure is 3 years, with the option to renew for an additional two terms.

Hearing Voices Network Dundee (SCIO) provides a haven for those in the community who suffer from mental health issues, specifically those who hear voices or experience other visual or sensory hallucinations. The HaVeN is a drop-in centre as well as a community café which is based in the Hilltown area of the city, offering one to one support and a variety of groups which are run and supported by volunteers.

What we do:
The Hearing Voices Network Dundee seeks to inspire hope and promote empowerment for Voice-Hearers, their friends, and families. We have a drop-in service which is open to all. No referral is needed to access the services and support that we provide.
We offer support, advice, volunteering opportunities, befriending, peer2peer, training, group activities and have a community café on site. We work closely with other organisations in our community to ensure that we remain up to date and are able provide creative support solutions to our service users and the community around us.
As a Trustee, we would like you to:
• Be passionate about the organisation and its mission.
• Support the strategic direction of the organisation.
• Work with other Trustee’s to ensure that Board decisions are made within governance frameworks.
• Be involved in sub-committees where possible.
• Provide assistance and support to the organisation
• Act in good faith and only in the interests of the organisation.

This is a voluntary role; however reasonable expenses will be paid.
We ask that you can attend our board meetings. The Board of trustees currently meet up to eight times per year. Our meetings are predominately virtual, however two meetings per year in person.

The Commission protects and promotes the human rights of people with mental illness, learning disabilities, dementia and related conditions.
We have a varied and interesting role as a Medical Officer for the right candidate to join our team on a Permanent basis.
The Medical Officer will be part of a multi-disciplinary area team and report to a Senior Manager. They will be professionally accountable to the Executive Director (Medical) for their specialty.
The post-holder must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold the MRCPsych or equivalent or be eligible for accreditation as an AMP. They must have experience of providing medical psychiatric care and working in a multidisciplinary team across a range of psychiatric sub-specialities.
The role also requires excellent IT, written and verbal skills.
You must have an excellent understanding of the mental health and learning disability agenda in Scotland and the capacity to influence and negotiate with high-level colleagues in the health, social care and voluntary sectors. They must also be able to communicate effectively and empathically with mental health and learning disability service users, carers and advocates
Also, you must have experience in the application of, and excellent understanding of, mental health and incapacity legislation in Scotland. Experience of working with Mental Health Officers and knowledge of their role is required.

RASASH (Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland) provides free, confidential support and information to anyone affected by sexual violence in Highland (age 13+). This includes survivors of sexual violence and their non-abusing partners, friends, and families. We support all genders – women, men, non-binary, trans and gender non-conforming, while recognising that sexual violence disproportionally affects women and girls.
We also develop and deliver training and workshops to schools, youth groups, and professionals on a range of topics related to sexual violence and gender equality. This, alongside our youth-led campaigning, is part of our work to change societal attitudes which contribute to sexual violence and the shaming of survivors.
RASASH is the only specialist sexual violence service in Highland. Our service is women-led and trauma-informed.
We are looking for new Trustees to join our Board to help guide our strategic direction and ensure we continue providing essential support to survivors across the region.
