Part-time: 18 hours per week, Tuesdays-Thursdays with some flexibility

Salary: £16/hr

Out-reach based at various locations around the city of Edinburgh

Background

Edinburgh Community Food is a dynamic organisation, dedicated to supporting the people of Edinburgh to improve their health and wellbeing through nourishing food and wrap-around support. We deliver multiple food and health-based community development initiatives around the city, including working with the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver food and health sessions for families during school holidays.

The development team sessional workers will join our dynamic team, assisting with one or more of our community development projects within the contracted period to facilitate cooking group sessions, deliver educational activities and promote positive public health messages around nutrition and diet to adults and children.

Required

• Food prep skills/cooking in a community setting
• Good knowledge of statutory nutritional guidelines
• Own transport
• REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene or equivalent

The Role:

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the development of a new Activities Centre in Forres, in line with Erskine’s strategic objectives of nationwide support to Veterans. The post holder will be responsible to the Regional Manager for the efficient and effective management of the Centre and will ensure that the services provided are safe, stimulating, meaningful and rewarding. The post holder will develop a staff team with an appropriate skills mix, ensuring person centred service delivery and a culture of pride and enthusiasm in the workplace. The successful candidate will also build networks and partnerships with relevant external agencies and internal departments to support the service and ensure maximum benefit for Veterans.

‘Discover Digital’ is a project to raise awareness of digital tools which promote health and wellbeing. Its current aims are enabling outreach and inclusion, promoting digital and health literacy, developing meaningful signposting and supporting the wider digital health and social care landscape.

The role of the Discover Digital Development Officer sits within the Digital Hub at the ALLIANCE. The main focus of the role will be to deliver the intended outcomes of the Discover Digital project. These are:

• Use service design approaches to develop and promote the Discover Digital Guide as a learning resource
• Development and provision of online and in-person Discover Digital workshops and the roadshow package, also using service design principles

The successful candidate for this role should have:

• Knowledge of the digital health and social care landscape in Scotland
• Knowledge and understanding of service design approaches
• Understanding of the issues affecting disabled people, people living with long term conditions and unpaid carers

The Role:

As the front of house colleague, the successful candidate will create a welcoming Erskine ethos-led environment. They will ensure the efficient running of the Centre’s Reception and provision of administration support to the Centre, in particular participant registration and monitoring, as well as support to the Centre Manager and staff.
