Our Options Dundee service works in partnership with families offering tailored packages of support to help families stay together. Based on the needs of the family, this includes supporting morning and bedtime routines in the family’s home and offering a variety of sessions and groups for children and young people which also help them to access activities in the community.

This specialised service enables the children and young people to grow and develop – access their local area, broaden their experiences and provide new opportunities which not only meet their needs but encourage them to flourish in a safe nurturing way.

What we are looking for....

We know how difficult it can be managing your work/life balance, and so we are offering flexible hours to work at weekends either on a Saturday or a on a Sunday or working on both days at the weekend. Work hours would range from 5 hours to 15 hours.

As part of a small team, you will ensure that the highest level of physical and emotional care is provided to the children and young people. Experience in this type of work is preferred however we will consider all applications. Full details of rota requirements will be discussed at interview. Enable Works are the leading Scottish organisation delivering high quality employability services for people who have learning disabilities.

Working on UK Government Shared Prosperity’s Multiply Service, you will deliver a structured and comprehensive curriculum that covers all relevant topics required to achieve up to SCQF Level 5 in Numeracy, ensuring the course content is engaging, easy to understand and caters to various learning styles.

Group Sessions: Plan and conduct group sessions, where clients can interact with each other, collaborate on problem-solving exercises, and learn through discussions.

1-2-1 Sessions: Offer personalised one-on-one sessions to address individual needs and challenges. This will allow you to tailor the learning experience to each client's specific requirements.

Assessment: As an Assessor, evaluate the progress of your clients regularly through assignments, quizzes, and tests. Provide constructive feedback to help them improve.

Digital Skills Training: Integrate digital skills training into your courses, as they are becoming increasingly important in today's world. Cover topics like basic computer operations, internet usage, and relevant software applications.

Money Management: Teach clients about effective money management techniques, budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions.

Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with clients to understand their needs, address any concerns, and provide support when necessary.

Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update your course content to align with the latest industry trends and best practices.

An Assessor qualification is desirable for this role.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

• Providing high quality support:
• Delivering effective and meaningful training sessions to groups and in 1-1 settings
• Active case management to ensure person-centred success
• Delivering support with fidelity to the individual project model
• Maintaining positive relationships with participants and their circles of support to ensure inclusive success
• Managing professional relationships with stakeholders and employers to create opportunities for participants

Delivering projects to plan:

• Keeping accurate and up-to-date records ready for audit
• Recording and gathering project information in line with project timescales and work plan
• Handling and storing project information in line with Enable Scotland’s data protection policy
• Reporting accurately on project activity when requested and in line with project timescales

Meeting performance expectations:

• Active case management to ensure participants are achieving success
• Meeting and exceeding individual project expectations
• Innovating and collaborating across your team to support wider Enable Works performance

Contribution to strategy:

• Sharing best practice and opportunities with Enable Works colleagues
• Positive and flexible response to changes in work plans
• Collaborative approach to team and departmental delivery
• Managing your time/caseload efficiently in order to respond to additional duties as required
• Supporting the training and marking of accredited staff training
• Representing Enable Works and Enable Scotland with an understanding of departmental and organisational strategies

About Aberlour Options Fife - Respite and Outreach

Options Fife Respite and Outreach provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We work closely with families and other professionals in providing support tailored around the child’s plan.

What we are looking for....

We are looking to recruit a Young People’s Worker Nights, working four nights on (10 hours per night) every second week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.

We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. Due to SSSC requirements you may be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.

We are looking for a new member of the team to work 22.5 hours per week. These will be variable working hours, including evenings and weekends, over a 7 day period.
