Training Officer

ESS is based in Edinburgh and works with the third sector and funders so they can measure and report on their impact and use learning to improve practice and inform policy.

You will deliver our ‘Let’s Evaluate!’ workshops and provide 1-1 tailored support to third sector organisations. We are looking for an enthusiastic trainer who can help people get to grips with self-evaluation and who knows that learning is not ‘done to’ people, but must involve them fully.

Communications Officer

The post involves managing ESS’s external communications (our website, newsletter and social media) to share learning about third sector evaluation and to promote our events and resources. You work with colleagues to create and design resources. You contribute to ESS’s income generation by promoting our services to the sector and to funders.

We want the best candidate for the job, so we will consider candidates who can work 4 days a week (28 hours) or 3 days a week (21 hours). See application pack for details.

The post involves designing, managing and delivering programmes about third sector evaluation and evidence in partnership with other organisations. The post also delivers workshops and 1-1 organisational support. You understand the challenges third sector organisations and funders face in measuring the difference they make. You can manage complex programmes and work well with a wide range of people. You have experience of helping people and organisations to learn in fun and accessible ways.

Finance and Business Manager

ESS is based in Edinburgh and works with the third sector and funders so they can measure and explain their impact and use learning to improve practice and inform policy.

The post leads ESS’s operational functions. You should have strong experience of finance and administration and experience of running information systems and databases. The post manages our Finance and Administration Officer and Communications Officer so you will have excellent people skills and more generally enjoy working flexibly and collaboratively in a small team. You don’t need to know about evaluation but you should be committed to helping us deliver our mission.
