SCIAF is seeking to appoint the Chair of our Integral Human Development Committee who will also serve as a Trustee on our Board of Directors.

The position

The Integral Human Development Committee’s purpose is to support, oversee and advise on SCIAF’s international development and emergency work, in a way that contributes to the quality and effectiveness of what SCIAF does and its accountability to its partners, the communities it serves, supporters, donors and other stakeholders. The Chair of the Integral Human Development Committee will spearhead this purpose and will also serve as a Trustee on SCIAF’s Board of Directors.

As a member of the Board of Directors you will be responsible for directing the affairs of SCIAF through efficient, effective and accountable governance, ensuring that the organisation is solvent, well run and most importantly that its activities are in the interests of its beneficiaries – the people who need it most.

The term of office for the Committee Chair position is three years which is renewable, normally only on one occasion.

Both the Integral Human Development Committee and Board of Directors meet four times per year. There will also be an opportunity to visit SCIAF’s work overseas, at least once within each three-year period.

The role

SCIAF has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator. The role sits in the Marketing and Communications team and will play an essential part in all marketing and communications activity, helping to coordinate integrated appeals and campaigns.

The post holder will use their strong project management skills to manage the timing of activity across the department, monitoring results and reporting on impact. They will be vital to the internal agency approach and the first point of contact for all communications requests. Alongside team administration support, they’ll assist with drafting and posting content, and facilitating the creation of design and print materials.

The Role

As part of the Community Engagement Team, this role will support the delivery of our community engagement strategy as we focus on working with the communities across Scotland to deliver long-term engagement with SCIAF.

Using a variety of opportunities for fundraising, volunteering and education, the Community Engagement Team generates short, medium and long-term income, new volunteer roles as well as support for our campaigning activities.

This Database Administrator plays an important role in helping SCIAF to reach ambitious targets for fundraising income and supporter engagement needed to deliver our vital work overseas with some of the world's poorest, most vulnerable communities. This role will focus on the following areas:

• Data administration and cleanse
• Production of data for supporter communications
• Synchronising online and offline data
• Support to system users on functionality

We’re seeking someone with database experience who is proficient in data cleanse, data extraction and synchronisation. Experience of python or of another programming language, and of fundraising software would be a major advantage.

SCIAF’s Senior Campaigning Officer has a vital role to play in attracting and retaining supporters by developing and delivering campaigns and other opportunities for people to be more activist, engaging the media, and working with other agencies to tackle the root causes of global poverty and injustice

The post-holder will take our campaigning to a new level, both in meeting SCIAF’s Influencing objectives and growing our profile with our supporters.

This role will manage business related tasks for SCIAF’s Director (CEO) and related organisational matters, including creating reports, organising travel and accommodation, organising meetings, taking minutes and other organisational tasks.

Glasgow-based Scottish International Development charity seeks events management and logistical support in the run-up to COP26. Approximately 50 days/400 hours between August and November 2021 @£25/hour.

Do you have an events management background?

This role will support the Advocacy & Campaigns team at SCIAF and its partners as they bring the Voice of the Global South to Glasgow for COP26 this November. Currently planning for a hybrid real world and online event, the role will:

• Provide administrative and logistical support in planning (which is well advanced) together with liaison with other agencies
• Assist our visitors to Glasgow with travel to (including visas) and around Scotland, accommodation, welcome and orientation in Glasgow
• Assist with a number of pilgrims arriving in Glasgow needing accommodation and other support
• Plan the delivery of alternative online tech if official partners are unable to attend
• Provide logistical support for our events programme

The Role

SCIAF have an exciting opportunity to join their team in a new role as the Senior Philanthropy Relationship Officer. The role is part of the philanthropy team, which sits in the wider fundraising team, and plays a vital role in helping the charity to increase its knowledge of and relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, and celebrity ambassadors.

The post-holder will line manage and work closely with a new Research and Trusts Fundraising Officer and with other fundraising colleagues across the organisation. They will also engage with sister organisations such as CAFOD in England and Trocaire in Ireland. You will work collaboratively to identify and cultivate potential philanthropic wealth in Scotland with individuals and trusts and foundations where SCIAF meets the stated criteria.

The role will be based in our Glasgow office, although a high level of flexibility can be offered in terms of where, when, and how this role can be undertaken.

We are seeking a fundraiser who will play an invaluable part in helping SCIAF fulfil its ambitious strategic goals. In 2019 they improved the lives of 1,812,000 of the world’s poorest people and wish to build upon this to help even more free themselves from poverty on a permanent basis.

We are therefore looking for someone with the skills and experience to develop long-term relationships with major donors, trustees of family charitable trusts and other trusts & foundations to increase philanthropic income year on year. We are also looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and always looking to raise the bar.

You will develop and manage relationships with SCIAF brand ambassadors and identify volunteers with access and influence who will enable SCIAF to meet and cultivate the people with control of these assets to persuade them to support their mission.

The Role

SCIAF has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the permanent Senior Digital Marketing & Engagement Officer. The role sits in the Marketing and Communications team and plays a vital role in overseeing and managing SCIAF’s digital presence, optimising user experience and growing our online reach and community. The post holder will also work closely with teams within the Public Engagement Department to plan and execute innovative digital marketing for fundraising appeals and campaigns.

The role will be based in our Glasgow office, although you may be working from home initially. There will also be opportunities to work flexibly in the future.

Who we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone with extensive skills and experience in managing an organisation’s digital presence, and a passion for developing and running exciting and effective digital campaigns to help us to reach our ambitious goals – whether through fundraising, campaigning for political change or raising our brand profile.

The role would suit someone with both creative and technical skills, able to combine strategy and innovation with data analysis and testing.
