CJS are recruiting for a Commissioning Grants Officer. This is a new and crucial role within the Commissioning Team. You will contribute to the grant process currently underway as part of the recommissioning of voluntary throughcare funding and support transition to a business as usual model of grant management of the fund recipients. The role includes working with the Head of Commissioning supporting the assessment of funding applications along with the finalisation process between the fund recipients, CJS and Scottish Government and contributing to transition to the new service. You will also be involved in the oversight, monitoring and evaluation of the voluntary throughcare grant. In time you will also support a recommissioning process for the voluntary throughcare grant and contribute to CJS’ vision for strategic commissioning in community justice.

About The Job

Our people are at the heart of the organisation and this role supports our team through all aspects of their time with Four Square. The postholder will oversee recruitment, deliver organisation inductions, support managers, monitor and arrange skills training and help deliver our payroll function. The role will have lead responsibility in delivering our organisational development programme Impactful People.

This is varied role working across our services and social enterprise which comprises of over 100 staff, volunteers, and students on placement. The postholder will gain exposure to a wide range of HR aspects and will play a key role in supporting the team.

All Four Square employees must complete a Basic Disclosure and provide evidence of the outcome when received from Disclosure Scotland.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and deliver organisational inductions to new staff;
• Oversight and maintenance of the HR database, including producing regular reports to provide KPIs as well as ad-hoc reports when requested;
• Responsible for the administration of the employee assistance programme;
• Produce payroll reports for monthly payroll;
• Work with managers in handling employee relations matters including, investigations disciplinary or grievance issues, providing appropriate and timely support and maintaining appropriate records;
• Provide support to Director of HR and Corporate Services on relevant HR matters and support the delivery of Impactful People, our Organisational Development programme
• Produce a monthly staff newsletter, supporting the culture and providing information to all our staff;
• Able to step in to support business critical functions in the central team when required (full training provided);
• Conduct exit interviews and collate data on reasons for leaving;
• Any other tasks which support the HR and payroll functions within Four Square.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least three years’ experience of working in HR and ideally a qualification in HR, working towards a qualification.
• Ideally a Chartered member of CIPD or working towards membership.
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritise an everchanging workload.
• Ability to take responsibility to proactively resolve issues and provide support in challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to build relationships at all levels across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
• Detailed focus, highly organised and able to plan and organise work with strong attention to detail.
• Advanced skills in MS Office Packages; and remote meeting technology.
• Office based to ensure collaboration with stakeholders and a consistent presence in the organisation.

A trusted expert with over 35 years’ experience, we’re looking for a talented Researcher to join our industry-leading Consultancy team and make a real difference.

The Team

Our Consultancy team are leaders in the industry and provide expert analysis and insight to drive the decarbonisation of homes in Scotland. The team works across a range of disciplines including analysing housing stock and applying the latest insights in behavioural science, with monitoring and evaluation specialists evidencing the impact of projects.

The team carry out research and support projects to make a low carbon lifestyle a reality for all. This can include area-based projects focused on domestic energy efficiency and a range of other decarbonisation projects involving low carbon heat and renewables.

The Role

Your role will ensure our work continues to be underpinned by outstanding research and analysis. You’ll use your excellent grounding in qualitative and quantitative research techniques to conduct both technical and social research that underpins reports and recommendations for clients.

Using your keen eye for detail you’ll ensure that the research the team produces and maintains the highest quality. Whether this is when you are conducting interviews, developing and analysing surveys, or carrying out desk research – you’ll be using your clear communication skills to ensure data is gathered and analysed effectively.

The research you undertake and support on is critical to Changeworks achieving its strategic aim to accelerate the decarbonisation of Scotland’s home to help tackle climate change. Your work will lead to positive change for the environment as well as people, their wellbeing, and the homes they live in.

Birthlink Redress is in partnership with Scottish Government to support people to identify and source historical records and to compile as part of the Redress Support service.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To undertake administrative and practical tasks in order to access records on behalf of applicants by submitting Subject Access Requests to Data controllers including follow up and up-dating applicants on any progress.
2. To support people, taking a trauma-informed approach, who have experienced historical abuse in a care setting as children in Scotland to access their records, compile any received, create a chronology ready for forwarding to Redress Scotland.
3. To deliver a professional support service in accordance with Birthlink’s procedures and standards.
4. Liaise with appropriate local authorities, statutory or voluntary organisations to access records.
5. To record, monitor and evaluate all work.
6. To represent Birthlink in a professional and collaborative way in all multi-disciplinary meetings and events
7. To deliver training and information on the work of the project as required
8. To contribute to dissemination of information about Birthlink through professional journals, conferences and Birthlink’s bi-annual bulletin
9. To attend supervision, team meetings and training as appropriate and take responsibility for your own professional development.
