RSABI provides financial, practical, and emotional support to people involved in Scottish agriculture. The support is mainly delivered through our national helpline and case work which is undertaken by a team of case officers supported by the Welfare Manager.

RSABI is looking for a new case officer to join our Welfare team. This individual will be responsible for delivering our package of support to new and existing beneficiaries mainly in Central Scotland. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting RSABI’s national helpline which will include making outbound support calls to clients.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with a professional background in mental health to complement the skills and experience of our existing team of case officers.

Purpose of the role

• To support clients of the charity in line with RSABI’s strategic objectives
• To assist with the operation of RSABI’s Freephone Helpline by handling incoming calls, triaging, and making outbound support calls
• To build positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners who can provide support to RSABI client

The people we support have significantly varying life experiences and needs and range from young people still at school through to people in their 90s.

Key is also a specialist Registered Social Landlord (RSL) providing over 700 homes specially designed for disabled people and those with long term support needs.

We employ over 2000 staff, with a relief register of another 500 workers, the majority of whom are directly involved in either providing, organising, or managing support.

We are seeking someone who:

• understands the knowledge, skills and values needed by our workforce to deliver truly person-centred, human rights-based support to disabled individuals, many of whom have complex needs.

• ideally, has some previous service management experience.

• has significant experience in delivering learning and development activities in social care, having created, launched, and reviewed learning resources for social care workers and managers.

• recognises the importance of making best use of all available resources to offer impactful learning and development pathways for a range of managers and staff.

With a recognised social care or relevant professional qualification and ideally a staff development or health and safety qualification, you will lead the delivery of our workforce and digital learning strategy.

You will lead on the delivery, further development and evaluation of our staff induction and learning and development activities; including online resources, to nurture a high quality, skilled and knowledgeable workforce.

Drawing on your well-honed leadership and time management skills you will work with some amazing people, including our highly experienced and committed learning and development team in the co-ordination and delivery of a high quality and proactive service.

The role will also have responsibility for overseeing and reporting of staff learning and development activities to a range of stakeholders, so effective organisational skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft office packages, is essential.

The post is based in Glasgow but will involve travel to our services across Scotland.

• Can contribute to the development of individually designed support services that uphold human rights and enable citizenship.

• Has strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to work closely with the people we support, their families and teams, as well as multidisciplinary partners, to support and sustain the highest standards of practice.

• Is able to confidentially role model excellent practice in line with our values, through a thriving community of practice leaders and positive behaviour practitioners as well as contribute to external networks and initiatives.

• Has strong project management and IT skills to support the implementation of effective processes, systems and tools which measure and demonstrate the impact of our strategies.

You will have a recognised social care or relevant professional qualification and while a recognised PBS/BILD qualification would be advantageous, this is not essential as we will offer support to attain this.

About the Role:

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people within your service. You will manage and lead a team delivering quality housing support/accommodation and housing management service and to support people with multi-complex needs/homeless in crisis (and/or previously looked after or accommodated young people) to build their skills and confidence to sustain their own tenancy.

Main Responsibilities:

As Service Manager, you will:

• Lead, manage and develop the staff team and others where appropriate (e.g. students, trainees etc.) to meet the objectives of the service, delegating tasks where appropriate.
• Promote and encourage the professional development of staff, including onboarding, supervision, core competencies, in-house training and external training.
• Ensure adequate staffing cover is provided for the service at all times by appropriate shift rotas and deployment of employees, both permanent and relief.
• Manage all aspects of the service in line with Blue Triangle, statutory and legislative requirements and take a lead role in the strategic development of the service.

About You:

• To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
• You will already be a registered manager with the Scottish Social Services Council, hold a minimum of SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3) in Social Care but willing to complete an SCQF Level 9 (SVQ4) as soon as possible and have experience of managing and motivating a team.
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
