Who we are
Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan) is South Lanarkshire’s Third Sector Interface.
Our dedicated team play a crucial role in being a source of knowledge, connecting partners, being a voice for the sector and supporting local organisations to build capacity. We want to build resilient and enabled communities to create a stronger, fairer, and more equitable South Lanarkshire with volunteers, Social Enterprises, and community organisations at its heart.
Our Board of Trustees are volunteers and provide strategic direction, offer advice, and ensure our work and activities continue to advance our objectives.
Who We Need
We are looking for several new trustees to join our board. We are currently looking for well-rounded board members with a mix of skills, experiences, and perspectives. No previous experience is necessary, and we want to welcome a range of applicants, especially from young professionals and community leaders.
Time commitment
Board members are required to attend bi-monthly board meetings (either in person or virtually) along with our yearly Annual General Meeting. Additionally, you will support your fellow trustees and staff on an ad hoc basis.
This is an unpaid voluntary role, but we will pay travel expenses.

Youth Volunteer Development Lead

Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire SCIO (VAER) help local people, groups and organisations to work together to shape their communities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within VAER and we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person who enjoys working with people to join our amazing team.
This programme will support local young people aged 12-25 years old to become effective leaders of change within their local community as key stakeholders within our Youth Volunteering collaboration.

JOB Role:
To work closely with Youth and Participation Teams to plan, develop and implement our new Youth Volunteering Programme.
You will be helping disengaged young people aged 12-25; supporting them to overcome their personal barriers to move forward. Our youth-led programme will offer young people opportunities to grow in confidence, find opportunities to participate that are meaningful to them and develop lasting connections within their community through the mix of 1:1 intensive support, group volunteering, and volunteering programmes and workshops, with a focus on creating local collaborations that tap into existing resources and services.
The programme is funded through the Young Start, a grants programme run by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Clackmannanshire Third Sector Interface (CTSI) is the single-door TSI for the Clackmannanshire area supporting charities, community and voluntary groups, social enterprises and volunteering. It has just launched a new three-year strategic plan in January 2024, a Volunteering Approach to a Wellbeing Economy and through this process has recognised that the board would benefit from the experience of new trustees.
Ideally, trustees will have experience of working within the outlined areas and will have a commitment to the importance of the third sector and community development. We are currently seeking trustees with expertise in health, family support and culture, heritage, and tourism.
To deliver Community Link Working in localities in Angus taking additional responsibility for connecting with wider VAA Locality workers third sector and strategic partner opportunities and connecting GP practices with community-based opportunities which help improve wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
The role will involve supporting personal options and choice for patients to help improve wellbeing, referring patients to comprehensive social care services, taking referrals, and ensuring that you target groups and communities most in need and helping them to live a healthier, happier life.
This is a very stimulating role that will allow you to work with a wide range of people such as GP’s Statutory partners such as Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), Community Planning Partnership (CPP) and voluntary organisations and will also include patients with:
- One or more long-term conditions in need of support with improving mental well-being.
- Who may endure loneliness or isolation
- Experience poverty and inequalities which may be a determinant to poor health.
- Have concerns about drug and alcohol issues.
- Who have complex social needs which affect their well-being
Authentic Voices Project Manager

DVVA and the Protecting People Strategic Support Team based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership are seeking a passionate and dedicated Authentic Voices Project Manager to play a pivotal role in amplifying the voices and experiences of individuals with lived experience within strategic planning and decision-making forums. This will include an initial focus on the protecting people partnerships and committees. This position is instrumental in supporting a whole system culture shift in strategic spaces and ensuring that the needs, perspectives, and insights of the individuals we serve are authentically represented and integrated into the development and improvement of our programs and initiatives.
The post holder will be employed by Dundee Volunteer Voluntary Action and co-located to work as a member of the Protecting People Strategic Support Team (based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership).
Ideally you’ll have experience of supporting the engagement of people with lived experience as well as networking with a variety of partners and stakeholders. You’ll be able to balance the differing needs and expectations of those you are working with to facilitate successful working relationships and outcomes. Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject, and with significant working experience, you’ll have experience of project management and delivering change programmes.
