About Intensive Family Support Service

Our service supports families in the Dumfries and Galloway area who are struggling to cope. The families we work with may have a wide range of issues, which include drug and alcohol use within the family. As a Child and Family worker you would work directly with the whole family in various settings, such as their own homes, our dedicated base and other community locations.

You will be the trusted person they could talk about what they are going through at home. You whilst undertaking assessments to identify what support we can provide. You will work with the children and the family offering practical help, in the community, family home, liaising with partner agencies, schools and nurseries. Participate and lead group work sessions. Attending meetings, children’s hearings, school meetings & health appointments as required necessary. You will help establish routines and build life skills with families. Help families build parenting skills and confidence.

What we are looking for....

You should have a sound knowledge of child development and be able to work with parents either individually or in groups to develop their parenting skills & confidence.

We are looking to recruit a child and family worker to work 37.5 hours per week. An unsocial hours allowance is incorporated into the salary to support the requirement to be flexible with your approach and available to work weekends, evenings and public holiday to meet the needs of the families you will support. This post is offered on a temporary basis until 31st March 2027 however we are actively seeking funding to extend this further.

CEMVO Scotland is a national intermediary organization with the aim of building the capacity of the ethnic minority voluntary sector and its communities.

We are seeking a highly professional and organised person with excellent multi-project management skills and experience to develop, co-ordinate and align our environmental related programmes of work, with primary focus on our Ethnic Minority Environmental network (EMEN), Environmental Race Equality Programme (REEP), and Energy Saving for All (ESA) partnership with Changeworks. You will ensure that all our environmental programme outputs and outcomes are achieved and reported upon, with hands on support provided to staff to help deliver planned activities.

You will also ensure that all other current and future environmental related projects are developed, co-ordinated and aligned with REEP, EMEN and ESA programmes, and will provide hands on lead where possible on other environment related projects.

You will also be leading on improving the marketing of the EMEN so that it continuously attracts new members and increase its profile within the environmental sector. Thus, you will need to have excellent all-round digital skills, including the ability to produce podcasts and blogs, updating website content, undertaking social media postings, updating and circulating newsletters, and utilising other digital marketing channels.

It will also be important that you have a strong understanding and commitment towards race equality as all our environmental related projects have the aim of ensuring that the environment sector address systemic racism and that the policy landscape is inclusive of ethnic minority voice(s).

Finally, you should ideally possess strong knowledge and a passion for climate change issues and policies as this will enable you to undertake the role of engaging effectively with the environmental sector and within the policy context, including responding to environmental consultations when needed.

We are looking for a Project Support Worker to join our team at CyberSafe Scotland. The role is central to supporting the delivery of our impactful Respected and Safe schools’ programme, that works to reduce online harm (including harassment, abuse and exploitation) and increase digital literacy and wellbeing.

Role summary:

The project worker will play a key role in:

• Co-facilitating targeted support groups with P7 pupils (Until the end of December)
• The ongoing development of our comprehensive schools’ programme with particular focus on small group support, delivering classroom sessions and developing support for families (January – March)
• Building relationships with school staff, pupils, parents and families

Purpose of the role:

The project worker role is an important role for CyberSafe Scotland within our partner schools – supporting children, their families and school staff. The project worker will have an area of focus supporting boys’ with their experiences online. They will also be an all-rounder with a responsibility for supporting the Director of Cybersafe Scotland and the other project workers with the ongoing development and delivery of our schools’ programme.

This is an exciting role offering someone the opportunity to be part of a growing team and be involved with delivering impactful support and developing resources.

Additional information

The post is advertised as a 15 hour per week role which can be worked flexibly in discussion with line manager. Due to the role responsibilities working on weekdays (Tuesday and Thursday) within school hours is a requirement, though some hours can be flexible across the week to some extent. There is also the option of a term time only contract. Please outline your preferences within your job application. This role would also be suitable for a job share.

The post is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme (Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme) and satisfactory PVG Scheme records issued by Disclosure Scotland. Where the contents of a PVG Scheme record are not satisfactory, we reserve the right to terminate employment.
