This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part to enabling the residents of Knoydart establish their very own community owned pub. With your help, we will be able to revitalize this pub making it a community hub, a desirable tourist attraction and a real asset for the people of Knoydart, visitors and our wider shareholders. Profits will be reinvested locally to support social and economic development and sustainability on the peninsula.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery, reporting, budget management, communication and evaluation of the redevelopment of the Old Forge Pub in Knoydart. The role is part funded by Scottish Land Fund and the Community Ownership Fund as well as the local community and supporters from across the globe through our Community Shares Offer and Crowdfunder campaign.
Whilst the role is mainly focussed on delivery, the post holder will also contribute to the strategic vision and forward planning of the Old Forge Community Benefit Society. After a successful fundraising campaign, we are currently in negotiations to buy the pub. The role is part-time (21 hours) and dependent on us achieving acquisition by mid 2022.

You will manage a team of embedded Senior Project Officers working within the partner local authorities and delivering in partnership with a broad range of local stakeholders to develop and deliver local Active Travel Strategies, Visions and Plans.
You will work closely with colleagues to secure funding for our work, capturing and communicating the impacts of better places for people. You will advocate for sustainable transport across the region and you will use that platform to influence local decision makers, through engaging in policy and planning work, leading on communications, and contributing to a coordinated approach to business development opportunities in Scotland.
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as Elected MPs, MSP’s members and others within local government, professional bodies and authorities.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should be an experienced leader, expert at developing and maintaining relationships at senior levels in a variety of sectors e.g. Local Authority, business and industry bodies. You should have line management experience.
You must have the ability to communicate authoritatively and persuasively to a range of audiences; with demonstrable experience of remote and face-to-face partnership development techniques.

Role Purpose
Volunteering Matters are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Volunteer Coordinator to join our team in Perth & Kinross. The right candidate will be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to our organisational values.
You will lead the development and delivery of our new Grandmentors programme in Perth & Kinross. Grandmentors is an innovative volunteering project where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their life experience and skills to mentor young people who are care experienced, or who have other adverse childhood experiences.
These young people often benefit from a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately providing young people the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives. Grandmentors has operated for over a decade in various locations of the UK, however, Perth & Kinross is only the second area in Scotland to adopt the project and we are excited to be working in partnership with the local authority to ensure this small pilot thrives across the area.
