Norton Park SCIO is a charity supporting the voluntary sector in Edinburgh by providing high-quality, affordable workspace and conference facilities. Over 25 non-profits are based at Norton Park, and hundreds more use our centre for meetings, training, and events.

We’re now looking for a creative, people-focused Community Engagement Coordinator to shape and deliver a vibrant programme of activities that supports connection, wellbeing, and collaboration among our tenants and the wider voluntary sector.

This is a hands-on, varied role with scope to build on existing work and develop new opportunities. You’ll lead on organising activities like Lunch & Learns, yoga sessions, social gatherings and learning opportunities – as well as building relationships with external organisations to extend Norton Park’s reach.

About You

We’re looking for someone with experience in community engagement, events, or partnership work, and who has a good understanding of the voluntary sector. You’ll be confident working both independently and as part of a small team, and skilled at making things happen – from planning and promoting events, to building relationships and creating a welcoming environment.

Strong communication, organisational and networking skills are essential, as is a commitment to the values of the third sector.

What We Offer

- £27,000 pro rata (based on 36.25 hour FTE)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with good heritage, project management and people skills to work with our existing Project Manager on new and existing FHBT projects across Fife.

We are an independent charitable Buildings Preservation Trust formed in 1997. Our mission is to create viable futures for heritage buildings and their communities by inspiring and enabling visionary conservation projects. Fife has a particularly rich and varied heritage with over 6,200 listed buildings and 48 conservation areas. We have helped deliver over £50m in historic environment regeneration projects in Fife, supporting town centres, businesses, tourism and local communities.

FHBT’s services are in demand, and there are many opportunities to develop projects that provide opportunities for engaging people and organisations across Fife with their heritage.

This is a new part-time fixed term post, funded by Historic Environment Scotland, to increase capacity within the existing FHBT team to develop existing and new historic environment regeneration projects in Fife, principally the restoration and re-use of historic buildings at risk.

You do not necessarily need to have formal qualifications or training in this area. You might have a background in archaeology, listed buildings, conservation, building surveying, architecture, community projects, or other areas.

The Role

Space is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to lead our Youth Befriending Team, a volunteer led service that provides befriending to children who have been impacted by addiction within their family.

Space Youth Befriending matches children aged 5-16yrs with a volunteer befriender. Through individualised weekly activity based meet-ups the befriender supports and encourages the young person to build confidence and self-esteem, improve social skills, and make friends.

The Project Manager will ensure quality, effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency of the service whilst holding the needs of the children at the forefront.

The Project Manager will be a key leader in the Space team, building positive working relationships with all staff and stakeholders.

They will collaborate with the Head of Service to continually plan, monitor, assess and develop projects within the befriending services.

They will also oversee the delivery of our Bookbug session which runs one morning per week.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage a team of staff and volunteers through all aspects of the people lifecycle including recruitment, supervision, training & development plans, performance management and reviews
• Ensure adequate staffing levels for all activities within Space befriending services to safeguard against risk and maintain quality of delivery.
• Coordinate marketing activities to raise external awareness of Space befriending services
• Proactively engage with children/young people, their families, and stakeholders to plan and implement person-centred programmes to meet individuals needs
• Maintaining accurate records of progress and outcomes, using the data to generate regular reports for funders
• Working alongside Space Fundraisers to locate opportunities for further funding and contribute to funding applications.

The successful person for this role will:

• Have a minimum of two years of experience in a team management role, being able to clearly demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the ability to naturally connect with a range of people across ages and walks of life.
• Hold a recognised professional qualification in social work, youth work, community education, childcare or other subject relevant to this role.
• Have well rounded knowledge of how addiction impacts families, and experience of supporting people who have been impacted by addiction.
• Have experience of delivering against targets and preparing reports to show outcomes.
• Have a positive can do attitude, ready to embrace challenges with a creative approach to tasks and problem solving.
• Have some flexibility around working hours to provide occasional evening on-call support and attend events outside normal office hours.

Being a trained Child Protection Coordinator (level 4) is highly desirable; however training can be arranged.

Annual Leave: 32 days annual leave, increasing to 37 days in year two of employment, Pro Rata. This includes some set public holidays and closure over Christmas and New Year

East and Southeast Asian Scotland (ESAS) is a community-led organisation working for justice, rights, and empowerment of East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) communities across Scotland. We centre the voices of ESEA people while building solidarity and a shared sense of belonging across communities.

Location

Board Directors must be based in the UK to ensure they can actively participate in real-time decision-making and stay engaged with ESAS’s work. While most meetings are held online, Directors should also be willing to attend at least one in-person meeting in Scotland each year.
