Lead Change in Your Community – Chair & Trustee Roles at First Step Community Project
Are you passionate about supporting families and young children? First Step Community Project in Musselburgh is seeking a Chair of the Board and new Trustees to help guide our organisation through an exciting period of transition and growth.
We provide Early Learning and Childcare for under 5s, alongside educational, vocational, and social development opportunities for parents and carers. Our outreach and respite services support families facing challenging circumstances across East Lothian.
As Chair, you’ll lead our Strategic Board, support the Project Manager, and ensure strong governance and strategic direction. This voluntary role requires leadership experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to community development. About The Role
The Treasurer will assist and advise the Board of Directors on issues related to finance. The position works in partnership with members of the staff team who deal with much of the day-to-day financial business, predominantly the Director and Finance Officer. All Trustees collectively play their part in financial monitoring and decision making at The Junction.
Within the role you will contribute to Finance Sub-Groups (meeting roughly 4 times per year in advance of a Full Board Meeting). You will also share Finance Papers at full Board Meetings which take place 4 times per year. You can join in-person or online.
About You

A key requirement for the position is that you have experience of managing finances for a board, for committee, or for an organisation. Applications from qualified accountants and those with experience within the finance sector would be very welcomed but this experience is not essential to the role.
Ability to ask questions, share and uphold our organisational values (inclusive, non-judgemental and collaborative) and having the time commitment for the role is also key to the role.

Elpis Trust provides accommodation and support to 19 young women, aged 16-25, in North-West Glasgow who are Care Experienced, have been affected by homelessness, or have been Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers.
Our dedicated staff team provide young women with life skills, a focus on wellbeing and mental health support to help them transition to independence once they are ready to leave our supported accommodation.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – Perth and Kinross Association SCIO are seeking a Trustee Volunteer as Treasurer.
About the Association
The Association was founded over 30 years ago to help young people in Perthshire participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) and provide support to DofE group volunteers. Eight years ago, we identified a significant lack of participants with additional support needs accessing the award, and in response, we developed and launched the Starfish Way programme. Starfish Way provides personalised support for some of Perthshire’s most vulnerable young people facing challenges with mental health, poverty, and lack of opportunity. We offer holistic programmes to support mental and physical wellbeing, education, employment, and independent living skills to maximise positive and sustainable life outcomes.

We are seeking applications from individuals with demonstrable high volume transactional work experience within a complex organisation, who have practical workplace experience of processing payroll transactions such as expenses, timesheets and other associated documents.
The role is a varied finance transactional role and will undertake regular payroll processing including appropriate reconciliation to documentation and systems. The role will also have involvement in supporting the wider finance function including areas such as purchase ledger, direct debit processing and general administration.
Prior experience of iTrent or similar people and payroll systems is highly desirable.
You will be a strong communicator and able to balance competing priorities. You will have experience of working with a wide range of office systems including Microsoft 365 and databases or financial systems.
