Ministry at the Margins is a key area of focus for SU Scotland. We are creating a culture amongst our staff and volunteer team consistent with God’s concern for the marginalised, seen throughout the entirety of Scripture.

This concern, we trust, develops a posture towards and alongside children and young people who experience marginalisation We have identified six areas in which young people can be marginalised:

Young people with ASNs access all our areas of ministry - schools, missions, holidays, school residentials, discipleship events, and yet we recognise that there is far more that could be done to see “every child and young person” engaged in SU Scotland ministry. This new full-time role aims to help us do just that connecting with staff and volunteers across the breadth of the organisation.

We are seeking a full time Additional Support Needs Development Coordinator to join our Ministry at the Margins team, leading SU Scotland’s ministry in this area.

• Providing strategic leadership: developing and enabling good practice for ASNs in all ministry contexts across SU Scotland

• Ensure appropriate resources are developed for use within ASN contexts

• Organising and delivering specialised events that train, resource and inspire different stakeholders

We are seeking to recruit a Fundraising Coordinator to join our Fundraising Team. This is a newly created role to support the development of our fundraising activities.

Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising Coordinator will work closely with the Fundraising Team to help deliver our fundraising and development priorities. The role will work across all income streams – trusts, major donors, individual giving and legacies with a strong focus on securing trust and foundation income, fundraising administration, supporter care and the coordination of fundraising materials and resources. The role will also contribute to reporting of Scripture Union Scotland’s impact - collecting data, case studies and updates from across our ministries to report back to funders. The post holder will also be involved in research to find new funding sources and prospects.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain administrative systems, fundraising CRM, and databases, keeping up-to-date records of opportunities, applications, and results.

· Provide support to the Major Donor and Trusts Manager by conducting detailed, compliant research, including identifying new potential high-value supporters and trust funding sources for SU Scotland.

· Provide support to the Individual Giving Manager across a wide range of income streams: appeals, legacy fundraising, regular giving programme, donor acquisition and supporting the wider staff team in fundraising.

· Contribute to the administration and stewardship of donors and work with the Fundraising team to coordinate and improve supporter care processes.

· Develop and update fundraising materials and resources.

· Be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries, responding promptly to all supporters.

Purpose:

As an Activities Instructor, you will be part of an instruction team, delivering a range of activities to our guests. You will also support the development of new activities and maintain the activity equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Play an integral part of the outdoor instructional team, leading and instructing outdoor activity sessions

• Assisting the Activities Manager with the training of the Trainee Activities Instructors; both on-site activities and working towards NGBs

• Look after guests during school residentials, including some evening work

• Participate fully in the life and ministry of the Lendrick Muir Centre and the wider Scripture Union Scotland organisation

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking applicants who have a passion for outdoor activities and a desire to use their faith to work with children and young people. Applicants for this post should have experience of instructing activities and hold two NGB Award (either CWI, BC Sheltered Water Coach or MTB Level 2) and training towards a third NGB, as well as holding a current first aid certificate. Further NGB awards would be beneficial. A full UK Driving License is essential (preferably with D1 + E).

We are seeking to recruit an Individual Giving Manager to join our Fundraising Team. This is a newly created and strategic role to generate and increase our income stream through individual giving.

Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the Individual Giving Manager, will be responsible for developing and delivering supporter acquisition, retention and stewardship campaigns with a focus on growing income, reach and engagement across a range of Individual Giving fundraising campaigns. This role manages our fundraising appeals, legacy fundraising, regular giving programme, donor acquisition and supporting the wider staff team in fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop the Individual Giving strategy

• Manage SU Scotland’s existing fundraising programmes in individual giving to maximise returns from existing donor base; achieving the annual targets agreed for all areas of individual giving.

• Develop donor journeys that are based on data and supporter insight, adopting a test-and-learn approach and optimising communications that increase income and supporter loyalty from cold and warm leads

• Manage the improvement and implementation of processes including thanking, data, income coding, and donor record maintenance on the CRM.

• Set up and complete regular reporting, analysing results against KPIs and budgets and making changes as necessary to optimise long-term ROI.

• Participate fully in the life and ministry of Scripture Union Scotland.

The successful applicant will be able to build constructive working relationships across all levels of the organization. As part of the Schools team, the Schools Liaison will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of a thriving school residential and day ministry at Lendrick Muir and promoting excellent customer service through working alongside school groups whilst on residentials and activity days.

· Ensure that pupils and teachers are cared for in a safe and appropriate manner and with specific regard to the nature of each group’s requirements

· Welcome guests to the centre and act as host during their stay

· Lead/co-lead pupil and teacher sessions including: welcome and teacher briefings, time for reflection sessions, farewell sessions for pupils and teachers

Lendrick Muir is a residential activity centre run by SU Scotland, near Kinross. The Centre has 165 beds and is set within a beautiful 120-acre estate. SU Scotland is a registered charity that aims to help all of Scotland’s children and young people explore the significance of Jesus Christ for their lives.

The Catering Team at Lendrick Muir are responsible for ensuring that a high standard of food is served to our guests and staff. During term-time, the Centre offers residential activity breaks to visiting school groups. School holiday times are fully booked with SU Holidays while weekends see a range of groups enjoying the facilities.

The post is full-time, with contracted hours of 37.5 per week. An allowance of £720 per month is paid and shared staff housing accommodation will be arranged for you on site.
