Role

The McSence Group is an award-winning Social Enterprise formed in 1988 as a response by the community of Mayfield and Easthouses in Midlothian to the devastating effects of pit and factory closures in the area.

Incorporated as a charity, the group provides a wide range of services including:

  • Care: Care at Home, Companionship & Home Help
  • Conferencing & Training: H&E Training, CSCS Cards, Events & Conferencing Facilities
  • Property: Property Maintenance, Cleaning Services, Property Letting, Development & Estate Management

Role

The Companionship Service offers 1-2-1 companionship to elderly and vulnerable people living in their own home. We employ a range of support staff who are matched to clients according to their experience, skill and personality.

We are looking for an positive, committed individual who’s is experienced in managing staff in a care setting.

The Companionship Coordinators role is to:

  • Meet new clients and their families
  • Carryout an assessment of their individual needs
  • Prepare the necessary plans
  • Manage staff and staff rotas
  • Support and provide guidance to the staff with the occasional weekend and evening cover
  • Work as part of team
  • Deal with day-to-day issues
  • Provide direct client support
  • Liaise with relevant professionals
  • General admin including working with a database

The role is very rewarding and provides an opportunity to improve the lives of elderly and vulnerable individuals and their carers enhancing their ability to remain independent and living at home.

Full driving license and use of own car is essential.
