We are looking for relational, child-centred, and motivated individuals to be part of an effective team that supports and monitors Safeguarders, works with partner agencies and delivers all other operational tasks associated with Safeguarder appointments.

The Safeguarders Panel Team at Children 1st is now established as an integral feature of the Children’s Hearing landscape. We have recently been successful in winning the new contract for the Safeguarder’s Panel Team until at least June 2022 (potentially 2024). Children 1st is contracted by Scottish Government to assist Scottish Ministers with the management, operation and monitoring of the national Safeguarders Panel.

In the role of Support Manager, you will work directly with Safeguarders to support them to work to our Practice Standards and contribute to the shared vision of best practice - an excellent, transparent, accountable and respectful service for children and young people.

You must have a working knowledge of the Children’s Hearing System, an understanding of child development and an ability to support people in a challenging role. You will:

· support and monitor a cohort of Safeguarders using our performance and support monitoring framework

· work with other team members to ensure the day to day operation of the service

· build relationships with partners in your region

Safeguarders are located across all areas of Scotland and the post will require working out with normal office hours, and potentially travel and overnight stays. However, Children 1st operate a time off in lieu system to accommodate the flexibility required by the role and you will enjoy a generous annual leave entitlement.

This is a full time, 35-hour/week fixed term post, starting as soon as possible and funded initially until 30 June 2022.

We are looking to recruit one person in the North and one person in the West (base to be negotiated).
