Scottish Women’s Aid is recruiting for the role of Administration Worker based in our Edinburgh office. Working closely with a small administration team, the role holder will focus on the support of the management team with HR, Health and Safety and secretarial tasks as well as other varied office duties.

The Organisation

Scottish Women’s Aid is Scotland’s leading voluntary sector organisation working to prevent domestic abuse and promote effective policy and practice responses for women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse. We are the umbrella organisation for 36 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, children and young people across Scotland.

What You’ll Do

Key to the role is the ability to work and think in a pragmatic manner to work flexibly with the Scottish Women’s Aid team. You’ll benefit from a varied and interesting workload, providing essential secretarial and administrative support for a busy and motivated team such as call screening, travel booking, and arranging meetings and taking minutes. Whilst some of the key tasks will be shared with other Administration Workers, this role provides a focus on HR and recruitment administration as well as secretariat support to our Board of Trustees and Cross-Parliamentary Group. Development and maintenance of Health and Safety arrangements will also be key to this position.

What We Need

The successful candidate will have experience of providing similar services to a busy team, with previous expertise in setting up and maintaining administrative systems. It is essential that you have an excellent working knowledge of ICT including MS Office packages, with the ability to demonstrate and share knowledge with colleagues.

We’re looking for someone who has

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Accuracy and attention to detail, with well-honed organisational and time management skills

· Ability to demonstrate patience and a calm approach

· Understanding of confidentiality and current data protection legislation

· Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and external contacts
