An exciting opportunity has arisen at Disability Equality Scotland. We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join our team.

Disability Equality Scotland is a membership organisation for disabled people and disability groups/organisations. It’s our mission to make Scotland fully accessible.

We promote access in its widest sense, including access to our built and natural environment and access to the same and equal opportunities as enjoyed by others in our communities, promoting a life of dignity, respect, choice and independence. This extends beyond physical access to include access to information, access to inclusive communication and inclusion in decision-making, whether with planners over inclusive design or transport providers about accessible and safe travel.

Disability Equality Scotland is a key delivery partner of Transport Scotland’s Accessible Travel Framework and has current responsibility for the Hate Crime priority in the Delivery Plan 2019 2020.

In 2019/20 we launched a pilot of Scotland’s first National Hate Crime Charter with key transport providers. The pilot included front-facing staff, managers and passengers and successfully reached over 1.2million passengers in an eight-week period.

The successful candidate will be responsible for piloting the Hate Crime Charter on the ferry network. Key responsibilities of this role will include taking the project from inception to completion, liaising with key partners and undertaking monitoring and evaluation.
