Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to join CAPS as we are creating a new Children and Young People’s Individual Advocacy team to provide advocacy for children and young people (5 -18 years) in the Children’s Hearings process.

Each part time worker would focus on one local authority area but provide cover and support to each other as required. Additional hours would be available when required to provide Children’s Hearings advocacy in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders as an alternative to the mainstream provision in these areas.

The focus of the work will be the provision of independent advocacy to support children and young people to express their views and wishes when going through the Children’s Hearings process. Experience of working with children and young people is required as well as excellent skills in communicating with them.

This post will be subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for regulated work.
