Role

A wonderful opportunity for an experienced Visual Storyteller to join the ground-breaking charity Playlist for Life at an exciting time. Playlist for Life is the personal music and dementia charity founded in 2013 by writer and broadcaster Sally Magnusson. We have ambitious plans for the next two years and, thanks to funding from the Community Lottery Fund, are recruiting for this new post to help support and roll out our UK-wide expansion programme.

You will be based mainly at our HQ in Govanhill, Glasgow but will travel regularly around Scotland and other parts of the UK, capturing compelling video content of people using personal playlists and benefitting from our charitable work. You will create assets to be used cross-platform to generate awareness of the power of personalised music, tell the stories of those using playlists to help those living with dementia, and promote the training and support that Playlist for Life can offer.

You will be highly motivated, creative and with the technical skills to shoot and edit engaging content, even in challenging situations. You will be friendly, calm, positive and a good listener – essential skills for developing a relationship with every person we work with. You will be an exceptional storyteller with a real passion for bringing personal stories to life. Your stories will help raise awareness of personalised music, develop brand awareness, and support our campaigns (including fundraising efforts).

This post will involve working with vulnerable adults and the successful applicant will be required to undergo PVG/DBS checks. Travel and occasional overnights are an essential part of this role; a drivers licence is essential and access to a vehicle will be an advantage.

The job will be made initially as a two-year fixed-term appointment, subject to further funding.
