At Options Fife Dunfermline we are looking for an Assistant Service Manager to lead on shift a small skilled team in delivering support to a young man who has recently moved into his forever home. Using a person centre approach you will lead and work with the team to provide support tailored to the challenges and complexities that will enable the young man to take the small meaningful steps in the progression of his on-going transition and within his daily living skills.

This can be a challenging but rewarding role assisting and supporting the team’s journey, building upon and reaching new personal goals.

The Assistant Service Manager will support the Service Manager in the day to day management of the service and work closely with professionals from health and social work.

What are we looking for?

You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young people have the best possible experience whilst working towards goals in their care plans. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal and emotional care. We are looking for someone who will contribute to the leadership, management and development of services for children, young people and families in line with planned objectives and assist with service review and evaluation.

You will have relevant experience of working with children and young people with a disability and/or autism in a community or residential setting and understand the impact of disability on social inclusion. You are required to meet the qualifications requirement for this post which is at SCQF Level 8 (eg. HNC, SVQ Level 4). This post requires you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Residential Child Care Worker with Supervisory Responsibilities and Support Worker in a Care at Home Service. Due to the needs of the service it is essential that you hold a current driving licence.

This post will work 30 hours per week as part of a residential rota which will include evenings, weekends and public holidays. There is also the requirement to undertake occasional sleep overs.
