An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Fetlor Youth Club’s dynamic youth work team. Fetlor existsto improve the lives of young people in North Edinburgh and to enrich the community is serves through innovation, collaboration and empowerment. The club is a place of activity, adventure and fun for all young people where they can try new experiences and learn new skills. We offer a safe and supportive environment, running youth work provisions Monday – Friday and holiday programmes.

As Deputy Youth Work Manager you will work closely with the Youth Work Manager in the development and delivery of an exciting programme of activities which will engage young people aged 7 – 17. You will ensure robust risk assessment, consent, health & safety and evaluation processes are applied, to ensure data gathering criteria are being met and adequate evidence is gathered during youth work provisions to allow Fetlor to meet reporting requirements. You will ensure the safe use of all spaces in the FetLor Youth Club building and play a role in the day to day upkeep of the building. You will support and encourage young people to express themselves, explore issues and facilitate personal development. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the outdoors programme, to include delivery of Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme trips and residentials, environmental project work around our Forest School and Community Garden, supported by the youth work team. You will also be responsible for the recruitment and mentoring of volunteers, supported by the Operations Manager.

You will have a relevant qualification in community education or youth work and at least three years experience. We are looking for someone who:
