Role

Venture Trust works with people experiencing complicated life circumstances. Through the provision of wilderness-based personal and social development programmes, we equip them with confidence, motivation and core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives.

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Development Trainer, with a passion for delivering tailored personal development programmes to disadvantaged individuals who are committed to making positive change in their lives. As a Development Trainer, you will be required to lead and support participants on their journey. You will deliver one-to-one and group work sessions focusing on areas such as goal setting, consequential thinking and identifying effective behaviours. Development Trainers support our clients to develop transferable skills and positive action plans for their return to their community. You will also be responsible for ensuring programmes are equipped effectively and operated safely in line with our Operational Guidelines, risk assessments and health and safety legislation, as well as for the production of plans and reports, and ensuring the maintenance, upkeep and storage of all equipment.

We’re looking for a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team, as such ideal candidates will have a wide selection of the ‘desirable’ qualifications as well as the ‘essential’ ones as outlined in the attached job description. At the very least applicants must hold a minimum of two of the following qualifications; Summer Mountain Leader certificate, Rock Climbing Instructor, Moderate Water Leader or equivalent (canoe), including a recognised First Aid Certificate.
