Headway Glasgow works with people from all backgrounds who have an experience of an acquired brain injury. Through the provision of a variety of groups aimed at different demographics, we offer a place for people with ABI to come together, socialise and seek support. The services we offer are all free of charge to those who use them.
This is an opportunity to be a central part of our exciting new Outreach Service, in the newly created post of Outreach Worker. This new service is designed to increase the accessibility of our service, and/or services provided by other relevant organisations, for those with an ABI. We have recognised that for people living with an ABI it can be challenging to engage with the services that are available to them. This new service will support individuals with ABI to explore and experience available services with the aim of increasing the likelihood of them being able to access Headway Group services as well as accessing other services and resources in the community.
The Outreach Worker will be based in our offices in Bath Street, Glasgow, but will travel throughout Glasgow. Their role will be to offer 1-1 support to those who interested in accessing services but who have indicated that this may be a challenge to them without support. This may include meeting them in the community and travelling to services, talking over the phone, providing 1-1 support in the Headway Glasgow office.
The Outreach worker will be joining a small team at Headway Glasgow and will report directly to the Service Manager. Previous experience in a supportive role is essential and a certificate in counselling skills is desirable. The successful applicant will be an efficient self-organiser who is able to work on their own initiative, use basic computer technology and record information accurately and operate within Headway Glasgow policies and procedures. Headway Glasgow welcomes applications from individuals with an experience of ABI.
The successful applicant will be subject to enhanced disclosure checks. Headway Glasgow offers 25 days of annual leave and 10 public holidays.
