An opportunity has arisen at the Poverty Alliance to join our small but busy administrative team. The Poverty Alliance serves a membership of more than 200, runs campaigns, organises events across Scotland, conducts research and works alongside people with experience of poverty. The Administrative Assistant will provide essential support across the Poverty Alliance’s policy and field work teams, as well as to our projects.

We are looking for an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills, with a track record in providing administrative support in busy office environments. As well as being familiar with programmes such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, you will be able to work to tight deadlines and manage a heavy workload. Experience in event organisation, minute taking, and handling petty cash, include booking venues, arranging travel and accommodation, updating and maintaining membership database, organising and providing support at events as well as word processing, photocopying, filing, distribution of mail and answering telephones are all essential. This post will be crucial in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the office.

Whilst the post is currently temporary it is our intention to extend the post if resources allow.
