We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Support Assistant to join our new service in Perth.

The Youth Homelessness Support Service, funded by Perth and Kinross Council, aims to reduce youth homelessness. The Support Assistant will provide practical and emotional support to young people aged 16-25 who are:

  • Homeless and require support to access a tenancy,
  • Living in temporary accommodation, supporting them to move on from this unstable accommodation into a permanent home
  • Living at home and experiencing family issues that may result in homelessness.

The Support Assistant will be a key member of the team, working directly with young people on a 1:1 basis across Perth and Kinross. The Support Assistant will work in the community, in partner organisations, in young people’s tenancies and in the family home. The aim of the Support Assistant is to ensure that a young person’s experience of homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.

The Support Assistant will work alongside the Project Worker and will be guided on support requirements. The Support Assistant will provide practical support to young people and the majority of their work will be working directly with young people and families. The Project Worker is responsible for case management and will lead on coordinating with other agencies.

Rock Trust has four core values; Safety, Positivity, Respect and Fairness. If you hold these values, and are passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential and move on from homelessness, then please get in touch.
