  • Edinburgh
  • Closing 16th February 2020

At CrossReach we’ve been providing a wide range of counselling services for over 30 years. Our perinatal service provides counselling and therapy to families and new and expectant parents, offering support to those experiencing anxiety, depression, low self esteem or any other negative feelings before or after having a baby. We also provide crèche facilities where service users can safely leave babies and children under the age of 5, for up to two hours while attending appointments.

As part of a restructure to meet increasing demands for mental wellbeing, we are delighted to advertise an exciting Perinatal Crèche Manager post within our central Edinburgh Counselling Service. You will be responsible for the provision and management of safe and creative crèches for babies and toddlers across the main site and community hub developments in the Edinburgh and Lothian area, ensuring they are achieving the highest professional standards of social care practice and meeting regulatory requirements.

This role would suit an experienced Nursery/Crèche Manager, who is now looking to further develop their existing skills and experience around mental health and in wellbeing support. Similarly, we would welcome applications from suitably qualified Nursery Workers who now seek a progression opportunity with an employer who is both supportive and fully committed to investing in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

This role requires you to be registered with a professional body, for example the SSSC or GTC, be qualified at SCQF level 9 or above in childhood practice and have a good knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and Birth to Three Curriculum. You should have significant post-qualification practical experience and some experience managing, supervising and developing staff to achieve their aspirations and therefore understand the challenges and rewards that this will add to the role.

A key part of this role will involve working with parents and children in distress across multi-disciplinary teams, therefore experience in this area would be advantageous. However, we are fully committed to further supporting the successful candidate in developing their skills in this area if required.

As part of our CrossReach Counselling Services, you’ll enjoy a supportive team environment and a breadth of development opportunities. We also offer an excellent benefits package including an employer contributory pension and a generous holiday allowance.

What’s more, you will be part of one of Scotland’s largest voluntary social work organisations. At CrossReach, we offer quality care and counselling to a wide range of people in need. But the real story of CrossReach is the work that our staff do: reaching out and making a real difference to the lives of others. If you’d like to join them, we look forward to hearing from you.
