Aberlour, funded by the Scottish Government- Investing in Communities, are trying to tackle poverty and inequality across disadvantaged North West Dumfries Communities. We aim to achieve this through our newly refurbished community premise, which is open to all, which provides a range of services for the local community such as community laundry, community clothing, community fridges and family/meeting rooms. Our aim is to build a service around the needs and interests of the local community.
We are looking to recruit a Community Connector who will lead the planning, delivery and development of this project. You will co-ordinate the planning for all community support- matching the needs of the local community with the resources that are available. You will work in partnership with other organisations within the area to promote change that will lead to better outcomes for families.
You would lead and develop the communities capacity in relation to forming a management committee to oversee the future running & development of the community hub, providing support/developmental skills to the members of the committees in relation to governance , roles responsibilities, structure, appointments within the committee.
You will work 37.5 hours per week, these hours will be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the service and the local community which may include evenings, weekends and public holidays. This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 2.5 years.
You will have significant experience in this field with a relevant qualification at SCQF level 7 or above. Further details can be found in the accompanying job description.
