Role

As the charitable subsidiary of West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA), Willowacre Trusts overarching aim is to tackle social and economic disadvantage and impact on tenancy sustainment within the communities served by WSHA.

Willowacre Trust understands the importance of providing tenants and communities with access to the support that they require to assist them in sustaining their tenancies and improve their opportunities.

Willowacre Trust plays a fundamental role in the delivery of non-core landlord activities including specialist support and wider community services. These services include Sheltered Housing Support, Starter Pack Services, Furniture Upcycling, Older People’s Services, Money Advice, Energy Advice, Handy Person Services, Thriving Places and the Barrowfield Community Centre.

Funded by the Big Lottery Fund we are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Community Worker to work within the Parkhead, Dalmarnock and Camlachie Thriving Places initiative.

You will work directly with local residents and communities to actively support their involvement in Thriving Places. you will work collaboratively with the community and enable them to identify, articulate and fulfil the aspirations that they have for themselves and their community.

You will be supported by the Community Connector. You will play a key role in building confidence and maximising community capacity to improve local skills alongside supporting resilience and strengthening the community voice.

You will have a proven track record of working directly with local people, be able to evidence strong community engagement skills and be able to demonstrate experience of community capacity building at an operational level.

You will require exceptional engagement skills, and be able to meet demanding deadlines along with good team working skills.
