This role will see you create and compile written tender responses to support the Bid Manager to complete tenders that articulate Action for Children's offer, in a way that is compelling and is consistent with our brand and our passion to deliver service excellence

The role

  • Responsible and accountable for the completion of compelling well written narratives in response to key questions for tenders/PQQ/RFQ and proposals
  • To manage and take responsibility over national Portal and E-tendering Systems to identify and submit opportunities through Public Contracts Scotland and PCS-Tendering
  • Take responsibility for storyboarding process, working effectively with internal colleagues to help shape and construct high quality tender responses
  • Lead on the Scottish Government open call for applications via Corra and other designated intermediaries to secure funding. Estimated £500k+
  • Create and communicate compelling written and verbal representation of our work which leads to secured contracts
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders/ commissioners and influencers, to shape our models, business positioning and propositions, leading to future work
  • Complete high standard written responses to Scottish Government and local authority requests for bespoke information, leading to potential opportunities
  • Responsible for the preparing and collating of additional bid information

The person

  • Degree level educated or relevant experience
  • Experience of working to support bids
  • Portal management experience e.g. PCS, PCS-Tendering or other similar systems
  • Experience of proof reading and excellent attention to detail
  • Professional experience of working to deadlines
  • Experience of working with complex data to identify priorities and to create a compelling narrative
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of writing bids
  • High level of IT skills, including the ability to use a range of core IT programmes including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • High level written skills, the ability to translate and structure complex information in a simple, straightforward and logical way to support high scoring bids
  • Good knowledge of principles of commissioning, tendering and how to support this
  • Demonstrates the ability to support the development of bids that win new business
