Role

If you are a Counsellor looking to develop your practice and qualifications then this might be the role for you!

As one of the largest providers of school-based counselling services in Scotland, The Spark is committed to ensuring all children and young people (CYP) have access to appropriate, professional support to cope with challenging life experiences.

At The Spark, we offer a range of professional SQA and COSCA accredited training courses including the Diploma in Relational Counselling, Supervisor training and Train the Trainer, subject to individual acceptance on each course. CPD is also available in clinical approaches including Scottish Mental Health First Aid. Clinical supervision is provided in house, free of charge, on a monthly basis.

Our counselling service utilises an integrative approach incorporating talking therapy, art therapy and therapeutic play and we have opportunities for CYP counsellors to join our team. Vacancies are available in school settings across Central Scotland.

CYP Counsellors will be required for a minimum of 2 days per week up to 4 days per week.

To be considered you will need to be:

  • Fully qualified to provide counselling to children and young people
  • A registered member of your governing body
  • Able to travel to locations across all of Central Scotland (travel expenses available)
