Would you like to join an exciting and unique service for Armed Forces veterans with a sight impairment?
The Linburn Centre is an activity hub offering a wide range of centre based and community activities to support independence and reduce isolation. We are looking for an Activity Support Worker to join our team of skilled and enthusiastic staff, working a flexible 30 hour week, Monday to Friday.
In the support worker role you will work with our members to achieve positive outcomes. This will be through implementing care and support plans and assisting members to engage in their chosen activities. We are looking for someone who can work with imagination and creativity, both individually and in group settings, enabling our members to gain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their time at the Centre.
Applicants must be committed to working with members to maximise choice and control over their lives. You will have an SVQ 2 in health and social care, or be willing to work towards this qualification. You will have at least a year’s experience of working with older people, adults with a sight impairment or other disabilities or with service veterans. Above all you will be a team player with excellent communication skills.
The post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update for regulated work with vulnerable adults.
