Veterans Housing Scotland is the operational name of the Scottish Veterans’ Garden City Association (Inc) (SVGCA). It is a private charitable letting agent, which together with its sister organisation, the Scottish Garden City Housing Society Ltd (SGCHS), provides housing to military veterans in Scotland who are disabled. Founded in 1915, we are one of Scotland’s oldest military housing charities and are extensively supported by a network of enthusiastic and committed volunteers, who are central to our success.
Our stock of over 650 houses of varying size and type is located throughout Scotland with an ambitious development programme over the past five years to increase the number and type of homes we can offer.
As we move into a new exciting chapter, the Charity is now seeking to enhance the assistance we provide to our tenants by proactively working with other support organisations so that our Veterans and their families can lead fulfilling and active lives in a positive and secure environment with the knowledge that, if required, they will receive the best possible support from those organisations best placed to provide it.
To take forward the successful development of this next stage in our strategy, the Charity now wishes to appoint an additional Senior Manager to work closely with the CEO to develop partnership working with organisations to provide added support to our volunteers and the wider Veterans Housing Scotland family.
This is an exciting, mobile and hands-on role for an existing senior manager who can demonstrate the abilities and skills required to pull organisations and individuals together to provide support and training for volunteers and identify support services for the evolving needs of our veterans and their families.
