Carers Trust Scotland is part of Carers Trust, a major charity for, with and about carers. We work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.

With locally based Network Partners we are able to support carers in the community with information, advice, emotional support, hands on practical help and access to much needed breaks. We offer specialist services for carers of people of all ages and conditions and a range of individually tailored support and group activities.

We are currently looking for a Youth Engagement Officer (Scotland). The scope and main duties for this role include:

To lead on engagement and consultation with young carers, national carers organisations, national children’s organisations and other national forums to ensure that young carers voices are recorded and represented.

To organise and deliver national and local events for young carers and stakeholders in Scotland.

To provide support for Carers Trust Scotland’s elected Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament and to accompany them to key meetings.

To develop, provide training and support the Young Carer National Council and co-ordinate youth involvement campaign activity.

To produce and disseminate written reports and provide feedback from participants in consultations and other stakeholders highlighting and promoting the issues for young carers in Scotland.

To represent the organisation in various meetings and events where appropriate.
