Barnardo's Community Family Support Service are looking for a driven and creative Community Family Support Development Worker (within Women's Aid) to become part of an innovative third sector consortium workforce in delivering a new service called ‘Glasgow Family Support Partnership'.

The successful applicant will be employed by Women's Aid - Glasgow East Women's Aid is run by women for women and is therefore restricted to women applicants under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1

The role of the ‘Glasgow Family Support Partnership' Community Family Support Workers will be to work alongside Statutory Social Work colleagues providing quality intervention through advice, support and services to children, young people and their families in accordance with the aims and objectives of the ‘Glasgow Family Support Partnership' service. Families referred to social work, but not meeting the threshold for statutory intervention, will receive faster and earlier access to support via the ‘Glasgow Family Support Partnership' service. The aim of this will be to prevent a crisis cycle developing and reduce the need for statutory involvement and intervention, or further engagement, from social work at a later stage.

Applicants require to evidence previous experience in assessing needs and achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and their families. They should also be able to evidence an ability to work collaboratively with partner organisations and statutory agencies to ensure a multi-agency approach to effective outcomes for service users

It is an essential requirement for the post that successful candidates be qualified to HNC in Social Services/SVQ level 3.
