We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about the importance of babies’ emotional wellbeing, to lead our work in Scotland. We have received funding from the Cattanach Trust to support the development of the first specialised parent-infant relationship team in Scotland, as the first step to developing provision across the whole country. Utilising your existing knowledge of parent-infant work across Scotland and your relationships at a national and local level, you will be creating networks and gathering local information and insights to identify where in Scotland is both system-ready and has the vision to develop and test a trailblazer team to support parent-infant relationships.

Working with the CEO, Head of Policy and Campaigning and Head of Clinical Strategy and Development you will build on the Scottish Government’s vision and commitment to infant mental health to find allies across policy and practice (statutory and voluntary sectors) to support the development of specialised parent-infant relationship teams across Scotland as part of a system to support the emotional wellbeing of all babies.

You will already be working in the field of infant mental health or the early years. We see this as a secondment opportunity for two days a week starting in January 2020 for a six-month period, but will also accept applications from individuals not looking for a secondment.

This is an exciting time for the Parent-Infant Foundation. We have always been a small charity that punches well above our weight. We are a small and agile team who work across the UK, and we expect flexibility, proactivity and enthusiasm for what we do.

You will bring experience of parent-infant work either within mental health, children's services or early years, and will be a collaborative worker who values the importance of relationships in developing system-wide partnerships. You will be a self-starter, motivated by the work to be achieved and enjoy working independently but as part of a cohesive team.

We are keen to hear from you if you already live and work in Scotland and have a good understanding of the way families are supported within the county, and how local health systems operate.
