Are you the person to take the lead in tackling poverty and hunger across East Lothian? If you are passionate about crisis food provision and the broader causes of poverty and hunger, we want to hear from you.
East Lothian Foodbank, established in 2013 and affiliated to the Trussell Trust, has a great team of staff, volunteers and trustees and enjoys a high profile and goodwill across the county. We have now secured a grant to part-fund a new management position. The right person will be able to develop our staff and volunteers to ensure that we provide the gold standard of emergency food provision to all our clients, without judgement or prejudice. This crisis service is the heart of what we do and our new Foodbank Manager will ensure that the charity can operate on a firm financial footing in order to do so. But this role requires more than sound day-to-day charity management and securing income; the Foodbank is keen to take a step change by developing “more than food” projects which tackle the root causes of food insecurity. The new Foodbank Manager will be expected to take a strategic lead in business planning and to actively shape how East Lothian responds to poverty and hunger, with the ultimate aim of reducing the need for food parcels.
Closing date for applications: 5pm on Monday 18th November 2019.
Interview dates: 3rd and 4th December 2019 in Tranent.
