Deafblind Scotland is the specialist charity working with adults who are living with dual sensory impairment. Deafblindness can be a devastating condition that can make daily life extremely challenging and as a result, many dual sensory impaired people become isolated. Our services can make a vital difference to their lives; enabling people to regain confidence, develop vital communication skills and re-establish social connections.
Alongside the Service Manager the post holder will ensure the working practices of Deafblind Scotland’s Guide/communicator’s are in line with internal and external requirements, including SSSC registration. Their role is to supervise support and administration staff on a day to day basis and through formal supervision processes.
The Team Leader will be supervising Guide/communicators, reviewing services and carrying out assessments for membership and new contracted services. As an integral part of the Services Team they will support the Service Manager to professionally lead the team of Guide/communicators, ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient service is maintained which meets the needs of users. They will provide support to guide/communicators to enable them to deliver services to deafblind people in accordance with their assessed needs which are compliant with the SSSC and Care Inspectorate standards. The post offers opportunities for innovation working closely with the Services Manager and Head of Operations.
