We are the national youth information and citizenship agency. Our mission is to provide young people aged 11 - 26 with relevant, trusted and meaningful information and opportunities to help them make the most of their lives. We have over half a million Young Scot card holders and communicate with our audience through a variety of dynamic channels – digital platforms, social media, marketing collateral, magazines and youth engagement.
Our Schools Officer will lead on Young Scot’s engagement with schools across Scotland. If you aspire to take responsibility for increasing the awareness and visibility of Young Scot within the whole school community, then this role is perfect for you.
You will work closely with a range of teams within the organisation including Digital Content, Localities, Communications and Outreach, to ensure that learners and teachers in schools across Scotland are aware of Young Scot and the depth and breadth of our offer, which supports young people to make informed decisions and fulfil their potential.
Working with the Digital Services Director, you will have specific responsibility for delivering the new Young Scot Ambassador Schools programme, formalising Young Scot’s offer to schools to support them to facilitate a generation of connected, informed and empowered learners. You will work with our Local Authority partners, where appropriate, to deliver this work. This initiative will encompass three badges (Connected, Empowered and Informed) for schools to collect in their journey to become a Young Scot Ambassador School. By 2022 we will see large numbers of Young Scot Ambassador Schools across Scotland on their Young Scot badge collecting journey.
Partnership working is at the core of how we work at Young Scot and this role will require regular collaboration with partners and stakeholders. As such, you should have extensive experience of working with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
