Would you like to join an exciting and unique service supporting Armed Forces veterans with a vision impairment?
Due to retirement we are looking for a qualified rehabilitation officer to support our recently expanded team and growing number of members. The post holder will join an existing team of six rehabilitation officers who work together to ensure that members of Scottish War Blinded receive the highest quality service to develop and maintain their independence following sight loss.
The suitably qualified rehabilitation officer will assess members at the Linburn Centre and in their own homes, ensure the provision of appropriate specialist equipment and provide mobility and independent living skills training. They will support the other staff at the Linburn Centre to develop their understanding of the needs of those with a sight impairment. They will also work with the other rehabilitation officers to provide vision impairment awareness training to the wider staff team and other organisations.
The post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update check for regulated work with vulnerable adults. Applicants need to be able and willing to undertake considerable travel in a wide area in order to visit members in their own homes (in some cases this may necessitate overnight stays away from home).

Closing date: 9am 11th October
